Saving Moses (SM) is a nonprofit organization that is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and comparable state laws. However, SM is subject to federal income tax on any unrelated business taxable income. In addition, SM is not classified as a private foundation within the meaning of Section 509(a) of the IRC.
