Saving Moses has been in South Sudan for over week and has had the honor to travel to many different areas, most of which are difficult to pronounce or to even find on a map. It has been an extraordinary experience. We have met some great moms and have seen some incredible babies in our search for babies who have urgent needs where care is least available. South Sudan is an interesting place and will celebrate its 2nd birthday next week. Therefore, in many respects, it is a baby country and from traveling all around it, this nation feels fresh. We have seen some difficult situations, but there is hope for this nation because of the people. They are kind, friendly, helpful, generous, and very warm. They are very intelligent, and yet after decades of conflict with their northern neighbors, have a confidence and hardiness to them. Getting to learn part of their language, culture, values, and to just be with them is an incredible experience. This is a wonderful country and Saving Moses wishes a happy early birthday to you South Sudan! May you continue to be strong, to be great, and to richly develop!
