Who We Are

Saving Moses is a global humanitarian organization meeting urgent survival needs for babies and toddlers, ages five and under, where help is least available.

Our story began in 2009, when Sarah Bowling traveled to Ethiopia and learned about twin baby girls, Sarah and Ruth, who had been abandoned in a field. Read Hanging by a Thread, the Saving Moses story by Sarah Bowling.

Our Name

Our name comes from the biblical story of Moses, who was abandoned in the Nile River when he was an infant and then rescued by Pharaoh’s daughter. She was a complete stranger who saved an unknown baby. This baby later went on to save an entire people from destruction.

Saving Moses values: compassion — value relationships and love the babies we serve; collaboration — work well with others and be humble; innovation — seek learning and maximize resources; adventure — be innovative and flexible; resourcefulness — make the most of what we have.
